When sun is down, and moon is out
When darkness looms and spreads
From shadow, tall, he walks about
Within our sleeping heads
A step he takes, with every breath
As ticking time goes on
With him, the bitter stench of death
A soul each night is won
As night draws closer to the break of day
And dark begins to fade
The Shadowman will break away
With him, his shadowed blade
Come night again, let darkness span
And fill the sorrowed sky
